Headlines - December 21, 2010

Thanks to all who attended the Holiday sing this year. It was a warm and fun time together. I cannot think of anything better than having a chance to give thanks, eat some cookies and sing as a community. I am especially proud of the way our students were willing to lead the songs for the rest of us. It was truly a Friends School event.

School Pictures – Pictures are ready for most classrooms and they look great. We will be emailing your password in a separate email.

Open Houses – The Friends School will be hosting Open Houses for our Pre-k and K-8th programs. Here are the listings
K – 8 program at the school
Friday, January 14th 10:00 – 1:00 PM
Saturday February 19 9:30 – 11:30 AM
Friday March 18th 10:00 – 10 PM
Pre-K program at the Friends Meeting House Annex (site of Cooperative Playschool)
Saturday, January 8th 9:00 AM - noon
Wednesday, February 2nd 9:00 AM – noon
Please encourage friends and families who may be interested in Friends Education to attend.

Basketball Clinic – A reminder to our 5-8th grade students that basketball clinic will be starting in January. Anyone who is interested in participating needs to register.

Free Winter Play Days – On Saturdays, Jan 22nd, February 19th and March 19th, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM The Friends School is hosting Saturday Play Days for children from 3-7 years old. The school‘s Community Room and a K/1 classroom will be open for supervised active and imaginative play. This is a great opportunity to bring a friend to the school and enjoy a morning out of the cold. Refreshments and snacks will be served. All are welcome. Please contact the school at (814) 237-8386.
